Choose the liquid type when adding. You enter the concentration and the dose in millilitres (it steps in small amounts), and you can record the day you first opened the bottle so Cadara can warn you when it should be thrown out — see “first opened / puncture date” under Cabinet below.

Set the schedule to as needed. It won’t nag you at a set time — instead it sits in a quick “as needed” spot so you can log it the moment you take it, and it still counts toward your supply and shows in your history.

When adding, pick specific weekdays, an “every few hours” interval, a monthly day, or a cycle like 21 days on, 7 days off. Cadara only reminds you on the days it’s actually due — off days stay blank and never show up as a false “missed.”

Give it a start and end date — handy for a 10-day antibiotic. After the end date Cadara stops reminding you automatically and won’t mark the days afterward as missed.

No. There’s no sign-up and no login, and reminders work fully offline — everything is scheduled and stored right on your phone.

The reminder at dose time is just the start. If you haven’t marked it taken, Cadara is designed to keep nudging you every hour until you do — so one missed alert doesn't have to become a missed dose. Reminders stop at the end of that day and never pile onto tomorrow.

In Settings you can switch between Cadara’s pill-bottle rattle and the standard iPhone sound. Use Test notifications to hear both before you decide.

A plain alarm rings once and forgets. It doesn’t know whether you actually took the pill, doesn’t track your supply, doesn’t warn about interactions, and keeps no record for your doctor. Cadara is built around the moment an alarm can’t handle — when you dismiss it and life moves on.

When adding or editing, turn on the option to vary the dose, then set each one — for example 1 tablet in the morning and ½ at night, or a different amount on certain weekdays.

Open the medicine — tap its name on Today or in the Cabinet — then tap Edit. Change anything: name, strength, times, amounts, schedule, supply, pharmacy, or notes, and tap Save. Your past history stays intact.

Exactly like a pill, but you enter how many millilitres you added (or mark it as a fresh full bottle). Cadara updates the liquid level and the days-of-supply estimate. If you’re opening a brand-new bottle, update the first-opened date too.

Liquids like eye drops and insulin expire a set time after you open them, no matter how much is left. Record the day you first opened (punctured) the bottle and a use-within number of days (28 by default), and Cadara shows a discard-by date and warns you when it arrives — even if there’s liquid remaining.

Open the medicine and tap Adjust to type the exact number you actually have. Use Adjust for a quick correction; use Refill when you’ve genuinely added more stock.

On the Reorder screen, tick the medicines you’re low on and tap send — Cadara writes the refill request and hands it to your Messages or email, already grouped by pharmacy. No phone call, no retyping your list.

Yes — as you log each dose, Cadara updates the supply you have left, shows your days remaining, and warns you before you run low. Low-supply and expiry warnings are free for everyone.

Cadara is intended for adults — 18+, or the age of majority where you live. As a caregiver, you can use it to help manage medications for another adult — for example, an older parent or a partner — whether you set things up on their phone or keep track from your own. It isn’t designed for tracking children’s medicines.

In Caregiver Mode, set a 4-digit PIN. The simple Take-Now view stays open for them, but medicines, schedules, and settings sit behind your PIN, with a recovery code in case it’s ever forgotten.

Every tap is logged the moment it happens, with the time. Open the medicine’s history or the History calendar to review it, and export a shareable PDF for appointments.

No — Cadara runs entirely on one phone, with no accounts and no cloud. The medication records stay on that device.

On purpose, there’s no undo button inside Caregiver Mode — a taken dose shows as a calm green Taken confirmation, so a confused patient can’t accidentally un-mark their own medicines. To fix a mistaken tap, the caregiver briefly steps out of Caregiver Mode: open Settings, enter the 4-digit PIN to unlock (that turns Caregiver Mode off), then on the Today screen tap the dose that’s marked Taken and choose Undo. Turn Caregiver Mode back on in Settings when you’re done. If you’ve also switched on “Disable Untake from the main screen,” turn that off first, undo the dose, then switch it back on.

While Caregiver Mode is on, the Settings screen stays locked so the setup can’t be changed by accident. To turn it off:

1. Open Settings. Because Caregiver Mode is on, you’ll see “Settings are locked.”
2. Enter the 4-digit PIN you chose at setup and tap Unlock. That switches Caregiver Mode off and opens the full settings.
3. Forgotten the PIN? Tap Forgot PIN? and enter the 8-character recovery code from setup (you were asked to photograph it with the caregiver’s own phone). That also turns Caregiver Mode off — and clears the PIN and recovery code, so turning it on again creates fresh ones.

Once it’s off, the Caregiver Mode toggle reappears in Settings if you want to turn it back on later.

Yes. Tracking one person is always free; with Pro you can add up to five people on one phone — you, Mom, Dad — and each person gets their own medicines, supplies, trips, history, reminders and color. It all still lives on that one device, with no account and no cloud.

In Settings, turn on Multiple users (that’s the Pro step), then open People → Add a person, give them a name and pick a color. Cadara switches to the new person right away so you can start adding their medicines.

Tap the name badge at the top of any screen and choose who you’re viewing. Each person has their own color, so the app gently tints to show whose screen you’re on — no mixing up your pills with Mom’s.

Yes. Switching to a person shows only their medicines, history and reminders — no one’s list bleeds into anyone else’s. And as always, everything stays on the one device; nothing is uploaded.

Removing a person permanently deletes that person and all of their medicines, supplies, trips and history on the device — there’s no undo, so Cadara asks you to type DELETE to confirm. The primary person (the first one set up) can’t be removed.

On your phone, and only your phone. Cadara has no account system and never sends your records to us — no ads, no trackers. (One optional lookup, which you can turn off in Settings, sends only a medicine name you type to a public drug database.)

In Settings, create a backup file locked with a passphrase only you know, then restore it on the new phone. Backing up, exporting, and restoring your own data are always free.

Turn on app lock in Settings. Cadara then asks for Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode each time it opens, so your medicine list stays private if someone else picks up your phone.

Open the Medication Summary (or a medicine’s history) and tap share. Cadara builds a clean list of your medicines, doses, and schedule that you can send or print for an appointment.

Cadara flags possible duplicate-therapy and interaction concerns from open data, as a heads-up to discuss with your pharmacist. It’s a safety prompt, not medical advice — always confirm with a professional.

First run Settings → Test notifications. If you hear nothing: open the iPhone’s Settings → Notifications → Cadara and make sure alerts and sounds are allowed; check that a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb isn’t silencing them; and that Low Power Mode isn’t delaying alerts. Cadara’s reminders are local, so once permissions are on they fire even with no internet.

Open the medicine, find that dose in its history, and tap it to mark it taken. Cadara updates your supply count to match. See “How do I fix a dose I forgot to log” above.

When your time zone changes, Cadara asks before changing anything. By default your medicines keep their usual clock time; for medicines where the spacing between doses matters more, you can choose to shift those instead. See Travel below.
